Bach On Breakwater Cafe and Restaurant

quoteWhat a find. My husband has to work in New Plymouth approximately once every two months. We asked at the hotel we were staying at if there were any waterfront cafes in New Plymouth, no one seemed to know of any ! When my husband had a bit of spare time recently he discovered this cafe. We had lunch there recently and were delighted to find they used the same coffee we used in our beach resort town cafe we recently sold. We owned the cafe for five years and I made coffee all of that time so we knew what it should taste like and weren't disappointed. The setting, staff and food were all lovely, we will definitely be back !

quoteWhat a fantastic spot. We were told we may have to wait a little which was fine, but the service was faster than the average restaurant. and the Lemon Possett was divine! We went back the next day just for the dessert. Any chance of the recipe???

We all belong to the birthday club and recommend your establishment to everybody we know. The food is always fresh and tasty and we love working our way through the menu every time we visit. About Bach On Breakwater Cafe and Restaurant

Bach on Breakwater is a modern Kiwi-style bach situated right on the waterfront at the Lee Breakwater in Taranaki's Port area. A mix of rustic natural timbers, corrugated steel and glass, this building with it's spacious decking areas, overlooks the sea and the shipping harbour.

With cosy banquette seating behind the fireplace, slab timber tables lining the many windows and a high seating counter along one wall, the atmosphere is vibrant and friendly with diners enjoying breakfast, lunch or dinner, wining and dining, choosing from the well thought-out menus which include vegetarian and gluten free options.

An interesting and very popular feature at Bach on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday nights is the Fixed Price Menu option where you can choose a starter, main and dessert for only $46.

The Bach on Breakwater is THE place to be for weekend brunches so arrive early if you want a particular seat. In the evenings, the Bach offers an unrivalled place to dine or just relax with a glass of wine or beer.
